The Roles and Responsibilities of LLC Board Member
Leadership of the Community:
- Strategic Direction and Planning
- Develop and maintain organizing and design Principles that create accountability, uphold LLC values, promote learning and strengthen leadership development work.
- Financial Sustainability: review and approve budget quarterly, generate wealth and plan for sustainability.
Active Involvement and Connection to the Community
- Board members will help to create learning and translate results into action by participating in the work of the community: learning circles, website development, research projects, committee work, special projects.
- Board members will be actively engaged with LLC participants to involve them in important decisions and to encourage and support their initiative.
Commitment of Time
- Quarterly Board Meetings: Two all day face to face board meetings: spring and fall, locations rotated. Spring board meetings precede the national meeting. Two 2 hour conference call meetings: winter and summer
- Participation in the LLC national meeting. (3 days and possible travel)
- Participation in board projects/committee work and a community learning circle. (3-4 days a year)
Compensation
LLC is committed to equity in access to leadership positions and will cover travel costs for board members who would not otherwise be able to serve on the board.
